Before my switch to advertising, I was a wine buyer for a rural wine shop that also happened to sell fishing gear and outdoor accessories. I spent half of my day trying to make wine less intimidating for our wine customers, and the other half trying not to be intimidated by our fishing customers. The forced Venn diagram of this store made me realize how much I love connecting with all sorts of people. I learned how to explain malolactic fermentation, what wines pair best with an 8-point buck, and how much I hate touching live bait.
